Standard driver’s licenses will no longer be accepted for these purposes once enforcement begins.

Kentucky’s REAL ID Options

Kentucky residents can choose between two types of credentials:

  • Standard Credential: Valid for driving and general identification, but not for federal access.
  • REAL ID Credential: Features a star icon and is accepted for federal identification purposes.
