  • Current CDL: Your existing Iowa CDL.
  • Payment Method: A credit or debit card to pay the renewal fee plus a $1.50 online processing fee.
  • Medical Certificate: Ensure your medical certificate is valid and on file.

After completing the online renewal, your new CDL will be mailed to you within approximately 30 days.

In-Person Renewal

If you're not eligible for online renewal or prefer to renew in person, visit any Iowa driver's license issuance site. Remember to bring:

  • Social Security: Proof of your Social Security number.
